FC Miami City Celebrates its 10 Year Anniversary with A Return to USL competitions.

Strive Football Group is thrilled to announce the return of FC Miami City to the USL competitions. Both the men’s and women’s teams are set to reignite their pursuit of excellence and continue their mission of providing a platform for talent to thrive.

Open tryouts on January 11th welcomed a diverse pool of talented players eager to join the ranks of this historic Miami club. The opportunity is more than a chance to compete; it’s a proven pathway to success. Remarkably, 70% of MLS draftees since 2010 have played in USL League Two, showcasing the league’s critical role in player development.

FC Miami City offers players an ambitious environment featuring elite competition, professional training, and the honor of representing a storied club in one of the most vibrant cities in the world.

A Legacy of Success: Women’s and Men’s Teams

The women’s team made history by qualifying for the USL W playoffs in its inaugural season. Players such as Barbara Murillo (Honduras international) and Kerly Theus (Haiti World Cup participant) exemplify the club’s ability to launch careers. Many alumni have gone on to excel at the collegiate and professional levels.

The men’s team has similarly fostered standout talent. Star player Ronald Belgrove represented St. Kitts and Nevis in FIFA World Cup qualifiers, while past rosters have included promising athletes seeking exposure and experience.

Building the Future

With tryouts complete, FC Miami City is ready to design expert training sessions, build team chemistry, and compete at the highest level in the USL competitions. At stake? The potential to shape careers for top performers both in the United States and abroad.

The club’s commitment to creating opportunities for its players extends beyond the pitch. For example, Linea Jorgensen, a former FC Miami City player, leveraged Strive Football Group’s global network to impress the staff at Thonon Evian Grand Genève Women’s Football Club. She secured a spot with the French team, advancing to Division 2, and achieving her dream of playing in Europe.

A Bright Future for FC Miami City

As the 2025 season kicks off, FC Miami City is poised to deliver unforgettable moments for its fans while setting a standard of excellence for its players. The club is also proud to continue benefiting from the leadership of Head Coach Julian Pedraza, now entering his sixth season with the team.

FC Miami City represents the pinnacle of the PSG Academy pathway, serving as the first team for talented players emerging from the program. At the most recent tryouts, two players from PSG Academy Los Angeles and Houston were invited to join the squad, demonstrating the seamless integration of Academy players into the group and reaffirming the club’s commitment to nurturing talent within the Strive Football Group network.

Whether it’s creating opportunities for local talent or building bridges to international careers, the club embodies Strive Football Group’s mission to harness football’s transformative power and build pathways to success.
