In a remarkable showcase of young talent and football prowess, Strive Football Group proudly announces the successful completion of the 3rd edition of the Paris Saint-Germain Academy North America Cup. The prestigious event, held from January 13th to 15th, 2024, in sunny south Florida, was marked by brilliant team performances and the unity amongst the PSG Academy family across the continent.
Under the supervision of Benjamin Houri, Technical Director of the PSG Academy Worldwide, the tournament saw the convergence of nearly 600 players from eight Academy locations across the United States and Canada, including Los Angeles, Phoenix, Houston, Miami, Pennsylvania, Chicago, Orlando, and British Columbia. These young athletes were aptly prepared to play at their best level in front of passionate parents, competing in categories ranging from U9 to U13.
The 3rd edition of the cup celebrated the inaugural girl’s tournament, as Strive Football Group continues its commitment to creating exposure opportunities for women’s football in North America. The U12 age category competition shone a spotlight on the rising stars from various academy locations, with Phoenix, Miami, and Chicago Academy’s offering exciting contests to the fans.
The tournament, held at our state-of-the-art stadium, boasted professional-grade facilities and amenities, and ensured a professional league experience to the young players. From professional referees to top-notch infrastructures to filmed final matches, the event exemplified Strive Football Group’s dedication to providing an unparalleled platform for young talents.
In addition to the on-field action, the event was a celebration of football culture, with spectacular opening and closing ceremonies, an engaging fan zone, and valuable educational opportunities. Workshops and expert-led conferences on development, athleticism, and academics offered participants and their families a holistic experience, emphasizing the importance of excelling both on the field and in their studies.
Benjamin Houri’s presence at the North America Cup went beyond observing the talented youth players, but also but also included updating coaches on and reemphasizing the value of the PSG methodology. Having united all coaches from the Academies, Houri led a comprehensive coaching clinic punctuated by valuable exchanges and discussions going well beyond the fundamentals of coaching. The clinic served as a forum for skill development, collaborative learning and enhancing the proximity between Paris and the North American Academies.
